Buenos Aires Lírica launches schedule

As was stated in these pages not long ago, opera in flourishing in Argentina, especially in Buenos Aires. Buenos Aires Lírica now joins the ranks of other opera groups that have been operating during the last few years. In their first season the following works have been scheduled: April 3, 5, 11, 13: Puccini, Madama Butterfly; June 26, 28, July 4, 6: Rossini, The italian girl in Algier; August 21, 23, 29, 31: Mozart, Tito’s clemency; September 18, 21, 26, 27: Vila-Gambartes: Orestes, Last tango; October 23, 25, 31, November 2: Donizetti, Lucia.
The programme combines well known titles with Mozart’s last seldom perfomed opera as well as the premiere of an Argentine work. The singers engaged are among the best local artists available: Natasha Tupin, Laura Rizzo, Gustavo López Manzitti, Cecilia Díaz, Rodolfo Valss, Eduardo Ayas, Gui Gallardo, etc..
